Department of Plastic surgery

Introduction:

This is the first department of Plastic Surgery started in India in the year 1958. Late Dr. C. Balakrishnan was instrumental in starting the department and was the first HOD till 1965. Thereafter Dr. L. K. Sharma headed the department till 1991.

\nFrom 1991 onwards to July 2016 ; Dr. Satish M Kale was the HOD till July 2016. 
\n
\nFrom July 2016; the reins of the department have been entrusted in the hands of Dr. Surendra kumar B Patil who is ready to take this illustrious department to new highs.Dr .Surendrakumar Patil is currently heading the department . The last MCI inspection was conducted in the year 1993.

\nPresently, the department is recognised by MCI with one MUHS approved PG teacher and an annual intake capacity of 2 MCh students.
